Normal resources

Resources are items that are used solely for the manufacturing of other items in the Foundry with Blueprints. Other than Orokin Cell, each resource can only be found in specific planet systems.

Research resources

Additional "research" resources can be found for use in Clan Research, such as Detonite Ampule, Fieldron Sample & Mutagen Sample. These resources are blue in color in-game.

"Farming" Tips

Break everything. Look for open containers or crates, and don't be shy to break them open, even if your team decides it's not worth it.
Playing a level with a one-way objective, with more level behind you? Either go it alone or ask someone to join you and explore the entire level, including taking elevators to floors where the objective isn't located, because chances are you will pick up more resources than the people who run ahead. (Note however, that if you choose to farm and get left behind, you will not receive mission credits if you do not make it to the extraction point in time, so decide which is more worth it to you)
Infested levels have more enemies amassed against you, which means more chances for the enemies to drop resources.

Resource Rarity

There are three rarities of resources: Common, Uncommon, and Rare.

Common Resource
Common resources can be found in quantities of hundreds at a time. They drop from lockers, breakables, normal enemies, and bosses.

Uncommon Resources
Uncommon resources can be found in quantities usually between 10 and 30. They drop from lockers, breakables, normal enemies, and bosses.

Rare Resources
Rare resources will usually drop in quantities of 1. They are most often found by defeating bosses, and very rarely from normal enemies or storage lockers/containers. All rare resources can also be found from assassination targets, such as Councilor Vay Hek and Jackal.
