| Used by the Stalker, DESPAIR throwing blades have a mono-filament edge, sharp enough to penetrate a warframe. | ||
–In-Game Description | ||
Characteristics
Advantages:
- Silent.
- Appears to be capable of higher ranges than the Kunai. (needs confirmation)
- Deals Armor Piercing damage.
- Deals 50% more damage to medium Grineer units.
- Can penetrate straight through enemies, allowing it to hit multiple enemies if lined up (Bugged, only seems to work when you are host. Lag makes it work incorrectly.)
- Like the Kunai, the Despair has two File:V.png polarity slots ideal for Hornet Strike and Barrel Diffusion for maximum damage.
- Higher Base Damage than the Kunai.
- Very fast Reload Speed. Can be improved much further, with the Quickdraw mod.
- Can be fired fully automatic, like an Assault Rifle. (Holding your fire button down.)
- Great Fire Rate. Further enhanced by using the Gunslinger mod.
- The Arc of each throw, although random, still allow you to accomplish headshots on enemies behind cover.
- Infested Runners do not explode on death when killed by this weapon.
Disadvantages:
- Only deals half damage to light Infested units.
- Non-Hitscan Weapon. Projectiles have a Travel Time, unsuitable against moving targets at long distances.
- (*)Trajectory can be inconsistent, making longer ranged throws more difficult.
- (*)Alongside the Trajectory being inconsistent, though it is listed as 100% accurate, The Despair Kunais have a random, although tight spread with every throw.
- Requires an even larger amount of materials to craft compared to Kunai
- While you are holding this weapon, your Spin Attack (Slide Melee) does not get speed boost.
- Does not stagger like the Kunai.
- Affected by Bullet Attractor (General Sargas Ruk's power)
Acquisition
The Despair's blueprint cannot be purchased on market, but it is included in the What Stalker? bundle. Its blueprint can be dropped by the Stalker.

Weapon Loadouts
- Main article: Category:Despair Build
See the user build section for builds using this weapon.
Notes
- Unlike the Kunai that deals armor ignoring damage, the Despair deals innate armor piercing damage (like the Snipetron), which makes it not as effective against non-ancient infested enemies.
- Currently, while holding a Datamass, there is no proper "animation" or "alignment" of the Despair, for running with the Datamass. The Despair will float above/outside of your warframe's hands, as if you had a Pistol in your hand instead.
- There was a bug pre-update 8.07: When having low framerate it had a tendency to glitch during reload, while holding the firekey it would reload continuously.
