An Infested Runner. Explosively allergic to non-infested.
Runners are orange humanoid Infested Corpus crewmen who will sprint towards a player and explode once in range, stunning the player and causing moderate damage; because of these tactics, players should kill them first. If a player cannot escape a Runner's blast, he/she can roll to avoid being stunned.
Runners killed by gunfire may cause them to explode on death, which can be problematic for teammates who were close by; killing a Runner with a bolt firing or melee weapon, however, will prevent them from self-destructing.
If the Rhino Stomp is used on a Runner, it can still explode during the stasis effect.
When using heavy melee weapons (i.e. Fragor) rapidly pressing the melee command makes the animation uninterruptible by runners and chargers. It is unknown whether or not this is a bug.
While Invisible using Shade's cloaking ability, Runners will still explode when you are near them, dealing damage to you and possibly revealing your position by knocking you out of cloaking range.
